The Madison Patriots edged the visiting Avery County Vikings volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league game.

Next up, the Patriots face the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, September 17. Madison will attempt to advance on its 3-4 season record.

The Vikings (1-8) will now prepare for their game against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses go into the game with a 1-4 record.
