Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Anoka Tornadoes (Anoka, MN) and the host Centennial Cougars (Circle Pines, MN), saw Anoka's soccer squad hold off Centennial by a score of 2-1.

The Tornadoes (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against Duluth East (Duluth, MN). The Greyhounds enter the Class AAA Section 7 battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Duluth East Moorhead (Moorhead, MN), 2-2, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Cougars confront the Elk River Elks (Elk River, MN) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 17. Centennial will attempt to improve on its 0-5 season record. The Elks enter the battle with a 2-4 record after their 1-1 non-league Spring Lake Park (Spring Lake Park, MN).
