In Thursday's non-league outing, the host Purnell Swett Rams soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the East Columbus Gators.

The Rams (3-6) will now prepare for their outing against Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC). The Falcons go into the United Eight 3A/4A outing with a 1-4 record. In their last outing, Seventy-First was edged by Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC), 5-2, in a league outing.

Next up, the Gators confront the East Bladen Eagles (Elizabethtown, NC) in a Waccamaw 1A/2A battle, on Monday, September 16. East Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 3-4 record after their 1-0 league win over South Columbus (Tabor City, NC).
