Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Gibson Southern Titans (Fort Branch, IN) and the host Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN), saw Gibson Southern's soccer squad hold off Mt. Vernon by a count of 1-0.

The Titans (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Tell City (Tell City, IN). The Marksmen enter the Pocket battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Tell City was edged by Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN), 6-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Southridge Raiders (Huntingburg, IN) in a Pocket battle, on Saturday, September 14. Mt. Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Raiders enter the battle with a 6-4 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Evansville Christian (Evansville, IN).
