The Newcastle Racers softball team scored 4 runs and held the visiting Putnam City North Panthers to 1 in the Racers non-league win on Thursday.
The Racers now sport a 14-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Blanchard for a 4A District 4 battle on Monday, September 16. Newcastle will confront a Lions team coming off a 8-0 non-league win over El Reno (El Reno, OK). The Lions record now stands at 23-5.
With the loss, Putnam City North moves to 4-13 on the season. The Panthers travel to Norman (Norman, OK) to play the Tigers in a non-league game on Friday, September 13. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 6-14. Norman won 3-0 in their recent non-league game against Sulphur (Sulphur, OK)
