    In Friday's non-league game, the Boone Central Cardinals (Albion, NE) football team were victorious over the host Battle Creek Braves (Battle Creek, NE), by a score of 49-21.

    In their next game, the Cardinals face the Wood River Eagles (Wood River, NE) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 19. Boone Central will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 3-0 record after their 41-8 non-league win over Fairbury (Fairbury, NE).
