    Independence (Ashburn, VA) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad smash the visiting Briar Woods Falcons (Ashburn, VA), 42-0 in a league match.

    The (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Battlefield (Haymarket, VA). The Bobcats come into the non-league match with a 3-0 record.

    Coming up next, the Falcons meet the Herndon Hornets (Herndon, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 19. Briar Woods will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Hornets go into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 16-6 non-league loss to Chantilly (Chantilly, VA).
