South Carolina High School Football - May River nudges Brookland-Cayce

September 12, 2025: Cayce, SC 29033

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the May River Sharks (Bluffton, SC) and the host Brookland-Cayce Bearcats (Cayce, SC), witnessed May River's football squad edge Brookland-Cayce by a count of 36-29.

The Sharks (3-1) will now prepare for their contest against Georgetown (Georgetown, SC). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Georgetown was nudged by Carvers Bay (Hemingway, SC), 27-21, in a non-league battle.

The Bearcats now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to South Aiken for a AAAA Region 4 battle on Friday, September 19. Brookland-Cayce will play a Thoroughbreds team coming off a 49-0 non-league win over Barnwell (Barnwell, SC). The Thoroughbreds record now stands at 2-2.
