Checotah Wildcats (Checotah, OK) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Dewey Bulldoggers (Dewey, OK), 14-6 in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats face the Locust Grove Pirates (Locust Grove, OK) in a 3A District 3 test, on Friday, September 26. Checotah will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Pirates come into the test with a 0-3 record after their 59-6 non-league loss to Adair (Adair, OK).
With the defeat, Dewey drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bulldoggers travel to Metro Christian (Tulsa, OK) to clash with the Patriots in a 2A-I District 4 game on Friday, September 26. The Patriots enter the game with a record of 2-0.
