    • Rhode Island High School Football - Ponaganset sneaks past East Greenwich

    September 12, 2025: East Greenwich, RI 02818

    The Ponaganset Chieftains football squad scored 20 points and limited the host East Greenwich Avengers to 14 in the Chieftains league triumph on Friday.

    The Chieftains now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mt. Hope for a Division III challenge on Friday, September 19. Ponaganset will face a Huskies team coming off a 18-17 league loss to Classical (Providence, RI). The Huskies record now stands at 1-1.

    The Avengers (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Central Falls (Central Falls, RI). The Warriors come into the Division III outing with a 1-1 record. In their last outing, Central Falls edged Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI), 22-6, in a non-league outing.
