The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM) and the host Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX), saw Hobbs's football team gain a win over Parkland by a final score of 49-22.

With the win, Hobbs advances its record to 3-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM) to encounter the Bulldawgs in a 6A District 3 bout on Friday, September 19. The Bulldawgs go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Las Cruces won 38-34 in their recent non-league bout against Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM)

The Matadors now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Coronado for a non-league bout on Friday, September 19. Parkland will encounter a Thunderbirds team coming off a 28-14 non-league loss to Oakridge (Arlington, TX). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 0-3.
