    The Orion Chargers (Orion, IL) football knocked off the host Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), 47-20 in Friday's league outing.

    The Chargers now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Newman Central Catholic for a Three Rivers - Rock outing on Friday, September 19. Orion will battle a Comets team coming off a 49-14 league win over Erie (Erie, IL). The Comets record now stands at 3-0.

    The Golden Eagles (1-2) will now prepare for their game against Riverdale (Port Byron, IL). The Rams enter the Three Rivers - Rock game with a 2-1 record. In their last game, Riverdale was toppled by Rockridge (Taylor Ridge, IL), 49-21, in a league game.
