Rhode Island High School Football - Rogers can't hold off Middletown

Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the host Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI), 3-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Middletown improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Islanders host South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI) to play the Rebels in a Division II battle on Friday, September 19. The Rebels go into the battle with a record of 1-1. South Kingstown lost 12-7 in their recent non-league battle against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI)

The Vikings now have a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Chariho for a Division III battle on Friday, September 19. Rogers will play a Chargers team coming off a 27-14 non-league win over Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout (West Greenwich, RI). The Chargers record now stands at 2-0.
