The Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) football knocked off the visiting Winterset Huskies (Winterset, IA), 35-12 in Friday's non-league outing.
The Bulldogs now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Woodward-Granger for a 2A Group 8 game on Friday, September 19. Van Meter will battle a Hawks team coming off a 42-28 non-league win over Perry (Perry, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 3-0.
The Huskies (1-2) will now prepare for their game against Carlisle (Carlisle, IA). The Wildcats enter the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Carlisle achieved victory over Grinnell (Grinnell, IA), 56-21, in a non-league outing.
