In Friday's non-league challenge, the host La Habra Highlanders volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Florence Gophers.
The Highlanders (4-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Crean Lutheran (Irvine, CA). The Saints go into the non-league test with a 18-1 record. In their last test, Crean Lutheran nudged El Dorado (Placentia, CA), 3-1, in a non-league test.
The Gophers now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Otay Ranch for a non-league test on Friday, September 12. Florence will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Christian (El Cajon, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-4.
