In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Jefferson RISE Charter volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Lutheran Gryphons.

The (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Willow (New Orleans, LA). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Willow edged Bonnabel (Kenner, LA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Gryphons meet the New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy Bulldogs (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 13. Lutheran will attempt to advance on its 0-5 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 3-3 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Fisher (Lafitte, LA).
