Next, the Comets confront the Mansfield Christian Flames (Mansfield, OH) in a Mid-Buckeye challenge, on Friday, September 16. Central Christian will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Flames enter the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 8-0 non-league win over Galion (Galion, OH).

The Smithies now possess a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waynedale for a Wayne County outing on Saturday, September 17. Smithville will battle a Golden Bears team coming off a 8-0 league win over Chippewa (Doylestown, OH). The Golden Bears record now stands at 10-1.
