The Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Mathis Pirates to 1 in the Lions non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Lions now have a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Skidmore-Tynan for a non-league game on Friday, September 16. Santa Gertrudis Academy will meet a Bobcats team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 15-9.

The Pirates (9-15) will now prepare for their game against George West (George West, TX). The Longhorns enter the 3A Region IV District 29 game with a 4-4 record.
