Whitewater Wildcats (Fayetteville, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Locust Grove Wildcats (Locust Grove, GA), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 10-7 record. They take the field next when they host Riverdale for a 4A Region 4 challenge on Thursday, September 14. Whitewater will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 14-5 non-league win over Washington (Atlanta, GA). The Raiders record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Locust Grove falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Eagle's Landing (McDonough, GA) to battle the Eagles in a 5A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, September 14. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-9. Eagle's Landing lost 17-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Howard (Macon, GA)
