The Mt. Vernon Mustangs got by the host Benton Bobcats football team by a score of 15-13 in Friday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs play the Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 20. Mt. Vernon will attempt to improve on its 3-0 season record. The Spartans go into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 55-2 non-league win over Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA).
The Bobcats (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA). The Clippers go into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Clear Creek-Amana was edged by Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 47-20, in a non-league challenge.
