The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Sandhills/Thedford Knights (Dunning, NE) and the host Burwell Longhorns (Burwell, NE), witnessed Sandhills/Thedford's football squad wallop Burwell by a tally of 56-8.

The Knights (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Bayard (Bayard, NE). The Tigers enter the D2 District 9 (8 Man) contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Bayard was trounced by Hemingford (Hemingford, NE), 70-8, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Longhorns confront the Palmer Tigers (Palmer, NE) in a D2 District 6 (8 Man) contest, on Friday, September 20. Burwell will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 1-2 record after their 26-20 non-league win over Nebraska Christian (Central City, NE).
