New Mexico High School Football - Silver triumphant over Cobre

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Silver Fighting Colts (Silver City, NM) and the host Cobre Indians (Bayard, NM), witnessed Silver's football squad wallop Cobre by a tally of 54-0.

The Fighting Colts (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Valencia (Los Lunas, NM). The Jaguars enter the 4A District 2 contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Valencia crushed Cuba (Cuba, NM), 54-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Indians battle the Dexter Demons (Dexter, NM) in a 3A District 3 contest, on Friday, September 20. Cobre will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Demons enter the contest with a 4-0 record after their 54-0 non-league win over Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM).
