Wayne Academy Jaguars (Waynesboro, MS) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Columbia Academy Cougars (Columbia, MS), 21-19 in a league battle.

With the win, Wayne Academy advances its record to 4-0 on the season. The Jaguars travel to Bowling Green (Franklinton, LA) to encounter the Buccaneers in a MAIS 4A District 4 battle on Friday, September 20. The Buccaneers enter the game with a record of 2-2. Bowling Green won 52-21 in their recent non-league game against Central Hinds Academy (Raymond, MS)

The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Amite School Center (Liberty, MS). The Rebels enter the MAIS 4A District 3 game with a 0-4 record. In their last game, Amite School Center was edged by Centreville Academy (Centreville, MS), 28-12, in a league game.
