The Loyd Star Hornets football squad scored 62 points and limited the visiting Salem Wildcats to 6 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Richton for a non-league test on Friday, September 20. Loyd Star will meet a Rebels squad coming off a 19-7 non-league win over Resurrection Catholic (Pascagoula, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 1-2.

With the defeat, Salem drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS) to meet the Bears in a non-league test on Friday, September 20. The Bears come into the test with a record of 0-3. West Lincoln lost 26-6 in their recent non-league test against Puckett (Puckett, MS)
