Illinois High School Football - Marion nips Mt. Vernon

September 13, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IL 62864

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL) and the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), witnessed Marion's football squad edge Mt. Vernon by a tally of 37-34.

The Wildcats (3-0) will now prepare for their contest against Lighthouse Christian (Springfield, MO). The Chargers enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Lighthouse Christian was nudged by Parkview (Springfield, MO), 38-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Rams battle the Collinsville Kahoks (Collinsville, IL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 20. Mt. Vernon will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Kahoks enter the contest with a 2-1 record after their 27-8 non-league win over Carbondale (Carbondale, IL).
