Waterbury Career Academy Spartans (Waterbury, CT) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT), 5-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Waterbury Career Academy advances its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Holy Cross (Waterbury, CT) to clash with the Crusaders in a Naugatuck Valley test on Friday, September 20. The Crusaders come into the test with a record of 4-3. Holy Cross lost 4-2 in their recent league test against St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT)

The Red Raiders now have a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they host Kennedy for a Naugatuck Valley test on Tuesday, September 17. Derby will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 3-3 league Ansonia (Ansonia, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 0-4.
