Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Berrien Rebels (Nashville, GA), 7-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Lanier County improves its record to 13-2 on the year. The Bulldogs host Irwin County (Ocilla, GA) to play the Indians in a 1A D-II Region 2 game on Tuesday, September 17. The Indians enter the game with a record of 11-1.

The Rebels now hold a 7-9 record. They play next when they host Brantley County for a 1A D-I Region 1 game on Tuesday, September 17. Berrien will play a Herons squad coming off a 13-0 league win over Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA). The Herons record now stands at 11-5.
