In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Whitney Wildcats volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Lynwood Knights.

The Wildcats (11-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Peninsula (Rolling Hills Estates, CA). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-0 record. In their last challenge, Peninsula edged North (Torrance, CA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Knights meet the Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 13. Lynwood will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 3-1 league win over San Gabriel (San Gabriel, CA).
