Cheverus Stags (Portland, ME) followers were content Saturday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Messalonskee Eagles (Oakland, ME), 48-21 in a non-league match.
The Stags (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Kennebunk (Kennebunk, ME). The Rams come into the B South match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Kennebunk defeated Scarborough (Scarborough, ME), 28-0, in a non-league match.
Coming up next, the Eagles confront the Skowhegan River Hawks (Skowhegan, ME) in a B North match, on Friday, September 19. Messalonskee will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The River Hawks come into the battle with a 1-1 record after their 14-13 league win over Lawrence (Fairfield, ME).
