California High School Flag Football - Jefferson can't hold off Channel Islands

Channel Islands Raiders (Oxnard, CA) followers went home pleased Saturday as they saw their flag football team nip the host Jefferson Democrats (Los Angeles, CA), 19-13 in a non-league match.
The Raiders (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Santa Paula (Santa Paula, CA). The Cardinals come into the Citrus Coast match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Santa Paula tipped Fillmore (Fillmore, CA), 50-0, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Democrats play the Stella High Charter Academy Eagles (Los Angeles, CA) in a Exposition battle, on Monday, September 15. Jefferson will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Eagles go into the battle with a 0-2 record after their 38-13 league loss to Dr. Maya Angelou Community (Los Angeles, CA).
