The Downey Vikings flag football squad scored 13 points and limited the visiting Del Norte Nighthawks to 6 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Vikings now sport a 14-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Mirada for a non-league test on Wednesday, September 17. Downey will meet a Matadores squad coming off a 28-0 non-league loss to Vincent Memorial (Calexico, CA). The Matadores record now stands at 2-9.

The Nighthawks (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against San Dieguito Academy (Encinitas, CA). The Mustangs enter the non-league challenge with a 7-3 record. In their last challenge, San Dieguito Academy held off Sage Creek (Carlsbad, CA), 26-0, in a non-league challenge.
