Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the San Marcos Royals (Santa Barbara, CA) and the visiting Laguna Beach Breakers (Laguna Beach, CA), observed San Marcos's volleyball team hold off Laguna Beach by a tally of 1-0.

The Royals (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ventura (Ventura, CA). The Cougars enter the test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Ventura tipped Oxnard (Oxnard, CA), 2-0, in a league test.

The Breakers now own a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sage Hill for a test on Tuesday, September 16.
