The Penney Hornets softball team scored 2 runs and held the host Carrollton Trojans to 1 in the Hornets non-league win on Saturday.
The Hornets now possess a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Trenton for a Class 2 District 15 battle on Monday, September 15.
With the loss, Carrollton moves to 9-1 on the season. The Trojans travel to Polo (Polo, MO) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 13. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Polo lost 15-8 in their recent league battle against Maysville (Maysville, MO)
