The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Newkirk Tigers (Newkirk, OK) and the host Pawnee Black Bears (Pawnee, OK), observed Newkirk's softball team get by Pawnee by a tally of 4-1.

The Tigers (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Stroud (Stroud, OK). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 4-18 record. In their last contest, Stroud was routed by Wellston (Wellston, OK), 8-6, in a non-league contest.

The Black Bears now hold a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mounds for a 2A bout on Monday, September 15. Pawnee will clash with a Golden Eagles team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Kellyville (Kellyville, OK). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 7-12.
