Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Granada Matadors (Livermore, CA) and the host American Eagles (Fremont, CA), observed Granada's volleyball team hold off American by a count of 2-1.

The Matadors (9-5) will now prepare for their battle against Washington (Fremont, CA). The Huskies go into the non-league battle with a 7-2 record. In their last battle, Washington tipped Moreau Catholic (Hayward, CA), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Eagles now own a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mission San Jose for a Mission Valley battle on Tuesday, September 16. American will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Kennedy (Fremont, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 10-2.
