The Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars topped the host Animo Robinson Monarchs volleyball squad by a final score of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league game.

No score sheets at the tournament so a stat recap is all I have to work with. The big number that jumps out is the team offense hitting .305 with 23 kills, 5 errors, on 59 swings. That's putting the OHHH back in offense. Oppo Darla Wiltz hit .333 with 5 kills, OH Nare Orujyan went 6 kills, 2 errors on 13 swings, big sis Athena Orujyan hit .294 with 6 kills, only 1 error on 17 attacks.If the hitters are on that means the setter is playing large & in charge. Maneh Parsadanyan set the table 17 times & even got a little crafty herself hitting .600 with 3 kills on 5 tries. In only 2 games the defense sparkled with 31 digs. 5 players put up 4 or more digs: Alice Moussiesse had 5, Nare, Athena, Lina Matevosyan, & Bella Tsatryan each had 4. Our passing as a team was hard to beat yielding only 4 REs for a spectacular RE% of .148! Nare Orujyan passed at a 3.0 clip topped only by Athena's 3.25 but Nare took 13 passes to Athena's 4. Darla Wiltz was a perfect .000 RE% on 4 passes. Way to go Cougs!
