Bellflower Buccaneers (Bellflower, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Maywood CES Wolfpack (Maywood, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Buccaneers (1-16) will now prepare for their challenge against California Academy of Math & Science (Carson, CA). The Coyotes come into the non-league challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, California Academy of Math & Science edged Wildwood (Los Angeles, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Wolfpack meet the Elizabeth Bulldogs (Cudahy, CA) in a Southern challenge, on Monday, September 15. Maywood CES will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Bravo (Los Angeles, CA).
