In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Hudson Pirates volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Benton Bobcats.

The Pirates (18-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Denver (Denver, IA). The Cyclones enter the non-league challenge with a 19-0 record. In their last challenge, Denver beat Grundy Center (Grundy Center, IA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bobcats face the Grinnell Tigers (Grinnell, IA) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 16. Benton will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Tigers go into the test with a 6-6 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Regina (Iowa City, IA).
