Marshall Lions (Marshall, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Oakland/Kansas/Shiloh (Oakland, IL). The Titans come into the non-league challenge with a 1-5 record.

Next, the Trojans play the Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 16. Charleston will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Carmi-White County (Carmi, IL).
