Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Verdigris Cardinals (Claremore, OK) and the host Eisenhower Eagles (Lawton, OK), observed Verdigris's volleyball team top Eisenhower by a count of 2-0.
The Cardinals (12-15) will now prepare for their contest against Elgin (Elgin, OK). The Owls enter the non-league contest with a 1-14 record. In their last contest, Elgin was knocked off by MacArthur (Lawton, OK), 2-0, in a non-league contest.
Next, the Eagles battle the Noble Bears (Noble, OK) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 13. Eisenhower will attempt to improve on its 7-13 season record. The Bears go into the battle with a 10-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Duncan (Duncan, OK).
