Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) and the visiting Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL), observed Illinois Valley Central's volleyball team hold off Staunton by a count of 2-1.

The Grey Ghosts (9-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Pirates enter the non-league contest with a 4-6 record. In their last contest, Ottawa got by Dakota (Dakota, IL), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bulldogs encounter the Bunker Hill Minutemen (Bunker Hill, IL) in a non-league battle, on Monday, September 15. Staunton will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Minutemen go into the battle with a 4-2 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Ramsey (Ramsey, IL).
