In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Miramonte Matadors volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Livermore Cowboys.

The Matadors (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Ygnacio Valley (Concord, CA). The Wolves come into the Diablo-Valley challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last test, Ygnacio Valley was edged by De Anza (El Sobrante, CA), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Cowboys now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carondelet for a East Bay test on Tuesday, September 16. Livermore will face a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Aragon (San Mateo, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 13-4.
