Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Owensboro Catholic Aces (Owensboro, KY) and the host Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY), observed Owensboro Catholic's volleyball team top Shelby Valley by a count of 2-0.

The Aces (13-5) will now prepare for their battle against Sayre (Lexington, KY). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Sayre beat Mercer County (Harrodsburg, KY), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Wildcats now own a 15-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kentucky Country Day for a non-league test on Saturday, September 13. Shelby Valley will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to LKY (Louisville, KY). The Bearcats record now stands at 7-3.
