In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host St. Francis Spartans volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Ursuline Academy Bears.
The Spartans (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL). The Tigers enter the non-league challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last test, Edwardsville achieved victory over Collinsville (Collinsville, IL), 2-0, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nerinx Hall for a Class 5 District 2 test on Monday, September 15. Ursuline Academy will face a Markers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Effingham (Effingham, IL). The Markers record now stands at 5-11.
