The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) and the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), saw Thomas Jefferson's volleyball squad nip Owen by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Thomas Jefferson upgrades its record to 1-5 on the year. The Gryphons travel to Shelby (Shelby, NC) to play the Golden Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, September 15. The Golden Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Shelby won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)

The Warhorses now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Avery County for a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 20. Owen will play a Vikings squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Madison (Marshall, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 9-1.
