Foard Tigers (Newton, NC) backers left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 3-1 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Tigers battle the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A match, on Monday, September 18. Foard will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Greyhounds come into the match with a 1-5 record after their 3-0 league loss to East Lincoln (Denver, NC).

With the loss, Alexander Central drops to 1-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to battle the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Monday, September 18. The Pioneers come into the match with a record of 8-1. Watauga won 3-0 in their recent league match against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
