Ohio High School Volleyball - Northview tips Clay

In Thursday's league contest, the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) volleyball squad nudged the visiting Clay Eagles (Oregon, OH), by a margin of 3-2.
Next up, the Wildcats battle the Gilmour Academy Lancers (Gates Mills, OH) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 16. Northview will attempt to better on its 8-2 season record. The Lancers go into the contest with a 7-6 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to St. Joseph Academy (Cleveland, OH).
With the loss, Clay moves to 6-6 on the year. The Eagles host St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, OH) to battle the Arrows in a non-league contest on Monday, September 18. The Arrows go into the contest with a record of 7-5. St. Ursula Academy lost 3-0 in their recent non-league contest against Magnificat (Rocky River, OH)
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - In the divisional crossover match-up, the Wildcats of Northview were able to fend off the Clay Eagles in a tight five set match. With the victory, Northview moves to 8-2 overall and 6-1 NLL as we approach the half way point of the season on Saturday.
Leading for the Wildcats was senior middle blocker, Claire Smith, with 11 kills, hitting .526 while also adding in 5 blocks. Smith's play was complimented exceptionally well with the play of Natalie Kerchevall, senior setter/opposite, who added 13 kills, hitting .241, while adding team high 17 digs, 3 aces and 3 blocks. Sophomore outside hitter, Tali Twigg had a team high 14 kills. Offensively, the Cats got 7 kills and 5 blocks from freshman middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington and was masterfully led by senior setter, Hannah Schoen with 47 assists and 9 digs.
Defensively, senior libero Jordyn Pakulski added 15 digs and a team high 5 aces and the Cats got 9 digs a piece from Paige LaBudda and Hannah Davis.
