In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Avon Lake Shoremen volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Mentor Cardinals.
The Shoremen (7-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Magnificat (Rocky River, OH). The Blue Streaks come into the non-league challenge with a 4-0 record. In their last challenge, Magnificat beat Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (Chardon, OH), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Cardinals meet the Brunswick Blue Devils (Brunswick, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 17. Mentor will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
