California High School Flag Football - Rio Mesa trounces Mendota

In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Rio Mesa Spartans flag football squad scored a decisive 54-0 triumph over the Mendota Aztecs.

The Spartans (5-6) will now prepare for their match against Buena (Ventura, CA). The Bulldogs come into the Channel match with a 3-7 record. In their last match, Buena routed Pacifica (Oxnard, CA), 18-12, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Aztecs meet the Lompoc Braves (Lompoc, CA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, September 14. Mendota will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Braves come into the match with a 3-4 record after their 34-14 non-league loss to Camarillo (Camarillo, CA).
