The Appomattox County Raiders edged the visiting Alleghany Cougars volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league game.

Next up, the Raiders face the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, September 17. Appomattox County will attempt to advance on its 5-0 season record. The Hawks go into the game with a 0-3 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA).

The Cougars (7-2) will now prepare for their game against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA). The Fighting Blues go into the non-league game with a 1-6 record. In their last game, Parry McCluer was edged by Nelson County (Lovingston, VA), 2-0, in a non-league game.
